Secrets of Wisdom · NZ (“we,” “us,” “the Provider”) respects your privacy. This Policy explains what personal information we collect through secretsofwisdom.org and our Services, how we use it, and with whom we share it. It is provided in accordance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).

We collect the following categories of personally identifiable information, only as needed to provide our Services:

• Contact details: your name and email address.
• Account information: if you create an account, your email and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in readable form).
• Consultation information you provide: birth date, exact birth time, and birth location; your questions; and, for Feng Shui, your property address, floor plans, photos, and compass readings.
• Booking & payment information: your appointment details and a record that payment was made. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not receive or store your full card number.
• Communication preferences: whether you have opted in to our newsletter.
• Basic technical data: standard server and security information (such as IP address) collected automatically by our hosting provider to deliver and protect the site.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to: schedule and deliver your consultations and readings; prepare your charts, reports, and recommendations; process payments and issue any refunds; create and manage your account and order history; send you the newsletter if you opted in; respond to your enquiries; and meet our legal and record-keeping obligations. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling unrelated to your Service.

3. Categories of Third Parties We Share With

We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate, and only to the extent needed to perform their function. We do not sell your personal information. These providers include:

• Payment processing (to take payment and issue refunds).
• Appointment scheduling (to book and manage your sessions).
• Email delivery (to send booking, account, and sign-in emails).
• Newsletter delivery (only if you have opted in).
• Website hosting and security.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our legal rights.

4. How to Review, Change, or Delete Your Information

You may review and update your name, email, and newsletter preference at any time from your account page, or by emailing us at [email protected]. You may also ask us to correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it for legal or record-keeping reasons. To unsubscribe from the newsletter, use the link in any newsletter email or update your account.

5. Data Retention & Security

We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the Services and to meet legal, tax, and record-keeping requirements, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. “Do Not Track” Signals

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for DNT, our site does not currently respond to DNT signals. We do not track you across third-party websites for advertising, and we do not knowingly allow third parties to do so on our site.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make a material change to this Policy, we will post the updated Policy on this page and revise the “Effective date” above. Significant changes may also be communicated by email where appropriate. Your continued use of the site or Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
